I still love Burgerworks, but I'm taking them down a star. Let's keep it real, the main attraction is still... just... a burger. For that, the price point is too high, especially if you add on any toppings, any sides, and any drinks. You can easily spend $50 here on dinner for two. For burgers. And it's a chain! Meanwhile, it's #RVAburgerweek and all they're offering is their "classic" burger, which is just a regular burger. Not even any cheese. For $5. It's normally $6.50. For just a burger. The bloom is off the rose, Burgerworks.

Always delicious burgers, always amazing fries, and always a friendly staff. A place that can be counted on for a consistently good meal and experience. I highly recommend The Bird turkey burger. It's absolutely delicious. Fries are enough to share. My wife and I love getting an extra side of chipotle ranch to dip the fries in. Looking for a bite for lunch or dinner? I highly recommend Burgerworks

Bison burger and Parmesan fries are the way to go! A little on the pricey side but very well worth it if you're craving for a delicious juicy burger and fries. The staff is friendly and the wait isn't usually too long. You can also call ahead to place your order.

Aw, yum! I had been here a really long time ago, and their fries had been kinda soggy and the burger was okay, but I went back today and it was very yummy and everything was nice and crisp! I got the portabello burger, which was very nicely seasoned and the balsamic glaze with some sauteed onions and spring veggies and roasted red pepper was awesome, when some malt vinegar and hot sauce was also applied. I like the ability to make your own burger, and don't have to run in to that "awkward" situation where you're trying to explain what you do and don't want on your burger, and they have reasonably priced bison burgers too, which rules! My dad got an order of parmesan fries, which... I guess, if you really like parmesan fries, it's enough to feed a small army. Had a couple- they were nice and crisp and had that great parmesan-y tang to them. Definitely will be back to mix-and-match... was pleasantly surprised to see how much this place has grown in to itself. All-in-all, good flavors and left a very pleasant smell on my hands (which a good burger should do!)
(4)Laura L.
I like that you have so many options to customize but I don't think the burgers are better than I have had elsewhere. and its a little pricey. once you get a burger and a side and a drink you can easily hit 30 dollars+ for just two people. Its just okay in my book
(3)Britt L.
Great burgers and the fries were awesome especially with parmesan cheese on them. Only complaint is that it is a little pricey for a burger joint. Ordered from the menu but i like the idea of being able to create your own burger from scratch with the paper form. Will return consider returning in the future.

4.5 stars I like the burgers. The pesto mayo is delicious. The bacon here is amazing. The egg was ok (I ordered runny and it came overcooked). The fries portions are way too much (be careful with the cheese fries). I was surprised by this place but it's been one of my favorite burgers in RVA so far

The champ is here, the champ is here!!! I have found the best burger in Richmond. Though carytown burger puts up a valiant effort, and glory days on hull is a close 3rd, burgerworks wins in the 12th round in my book. Burger Bach is a disgrace to the great hamburger name in my book. This is another situation where I wish yelp had half star ratings, because it deserves a 4.5 rating from me. My wife and 2 kids went here finally after trying it twice at broad apetit. When I tried it there, it was good, not enough for me to make a special trip. So we went Friday night and tried it and I'm sad I've waited this long. I ordered a 1/3 lb burger with a classic egg bun, Gouda cheese, lettuce, jalapeños, and of course bacon. Service was polite and fast, and the workers were extremely pleasant. I also ordered a basket of fried pickles to accompany my food. So my fried pickles came, and as a fried pickle snob I was let down. The pickles were sliced too thick, which makes them undesirable to eat. The batter was good, but overall the pickle was not good. I took a 1/2 star off for this, but this is a burger place, not a pickle place. My burger came and I was in heaven. I am an avid griller, and one thing I despise is people who don't season their hamburger meat. This meat was seasoned perfectly. All of the toppings were placed on the burger, and it was not one of those burgers where everything fell off while eating. Everything stayed on the bun and it was spectacular. The bacon was cooked perfectly, and the jalapeños were beautiful. Raw, and spicy as they should be. I'm glad the were raw and not grilled, because that would have took some of the flavor out. My wife and kids burgers also were made to perfection. This is the first place I've been in a long time where everyone's food was perfect. I found nothing wrong with the burgers to nitpick. So Richmonders, if you are looking for the top dog in #rva burgers head down brows street and try burgerworks. If you pass innsbrook, you gone too far. If you find your self in short pump, don't be tempted to turn to burgerworks. Turn around and head east immediately!!!

I has never been here before and now I've come for the second day in a week. This place has an excellent selection of burgers. They have tons of options and fresh ideas. Highly recommended
(5)Janice G.
Great fabulous fantastic!! We liked the original fries if you care about salt in your diet. Only thing we didn't care for is it is sooooo LOUD! Parents allow their kids to shriek uncontrolled these days.. Next time i will wear ear plugs.. The bison burger is the best..,
(5)Nate H.
My kids suggested this place since they don't have a location south of the James. I'm definitely coming back :)
(4)Ryan M.
I really enjoyed Burgerworks. I was greeted at the door by either the owner or manager, and was promptly asked if this was my first visit or not (it was). She encouraged the employee at the register to walk me through the process of either building my own burger, or selecting one of the burgers off the menu. I really appreciated being walked through my various options, their cost. I decided that I didn't want to go the route of building my own burger, so I selected a menu option instead. I went with "Da B.O.M", "horseradish-bacon mayo, smoked gouda, sauteed mushrooms, applewood smoked bacon, onion rings, cabot white cheddar, and BBQ sauce. I opted for their classic bun, and went with bison instead of ground beef. This burger was damn delicious. A bit runny and juicy, which is understandable, but they didn't overcook the hell out of my bison, which was a huge plus. I didn't go with any fries or anything, but after reading reviews perhaps I should have given that a shot. Overall, after my first visit this place is very comparable in quality and flavor to Burger Bach. Will definitely be back.
(5)Catie B.
BYOB: build your own burger. Love this concept! I had a bison burger with sharp white cheddar, onion straws and chipotle mayo. A table of us shared a large cheddar bacon fries and it was more than enough! Quick service and delicious!
(5)Arrr Z.
Still top notch burgers in Richmond even as the market continues to heat up. I do wish they would move closer to short pump mall....hey how about moving into Maria's or chili's vacant building. Prime location and guaranteed traffic....you do have the freshest hamburger bun in town.
(4)Tom S.
Tried Burgerworks for lunch today, this was my first visit. The menu posted on the wall to the right of the line was hung very high and was hard to read. Once we were able to get a paper menu it was better to understand to place our order. Service was great and quick. We ordered a Parmesan Fries, Fried Pickles and a pre-selected burger DaB.O.M. As said in another review the fries were big enough for two, and the pickles were excellent. I enjoyed my burger, it was very tasty. I would go there again.
(4)Arun M.
I've been here several times and the burgers and the many options they offer are impressive. Fries and onion rings are also good, dining style is casual, and the food taste fresh. My problem with this place is that they only have coke products (I'm a Pepsi fan), prices are high, there are no combo deals, they don't half wrap the burgers, and services is a hit or miss. Overall the pros and cons even themselves but for me I think twice before coming here first.
(3)Duy N.
I like how you can choose a wide range of toppings. They even have unique items such as fresh mozzarella cheese. I had the bison burger but it just tasted just like a regular beef burger. I don't know if bison is suppose to taste different --it was my first time trying it. It is suppose to be better for you. But for the extra price, I'd just stick with the normal burger. You won't notice a taste difference. They give you lots of fries for only $1.99. You can easily share those with a friend. Oh, ask for the ranch dressing. They have one of the better ranch dressings around. It is nice and thick. Not the cheap runny kind.
(4)Damian L.
Let me preface this review by saying that I'm a big burger fan. From fast food places like McDonalds to diners to burger shops themselves, I just like burgers. It's my default meal at a diner and something I always find myself enjoying. So when Yelp tells me that there is an awesome burger place down the street from where I live, of course I'm going to check it out. And boy, I'm glad I did! --Food: I got a 1/4 lb. Bison Burger with White Cheddar, Chipotle Mayo, Bacon, and Vidalia Onions, along with a side of fries and a drink. -All-Natural Grass Fed Bison Burger: Some of the Specialty burgers looked like they had way too many ingredients, and I knew if I got one I'd end up all messy. Not that I won't try one eventually, but I wanted a relatively straightforward burger. The burger itself was great. While the taste itself is similar to beef, the lack of fat was noticeable and very appealing. I believe that they gave me normal Mayo instead of Chipotle Mayo. (Unless their Chipotle Mayo is completely white and tastes like normal mayo, hah.) I was hoping to have a little extra spice that would have been provided, but it's alright, the mayo was still good. The bacon and the onions tasted good, but the underlying burger flavor won it for me. -Fries: More or less what I was expecting. They're thin cut and slightly crispy, and you can tell they're made from real potatoes. The menu says that they are "tossed with our special blend of seasonings", but as far as I'm concerned that blend consists entirely of salt and a little bit of pepper. I think next time I'll try an order of those Parmesan fries or the Bacon Cheddar ones. That said, they weren't bad! Just... fries. --Cost: The burger was I believe $9 and some change, fries $2, and drink $2. Totaled about $14. It's a bit on the high side, but honestly the burger was delicious and there aren't many places you can get Natural bison burgers that I've seen. --Atmosphere: I went at 2:30 PM and I was one of two people in the restaurant. The main dining area is big and spacious and offers booths and tables. The place was super clean as well. --Service: Other people mentioned it as well, but the staff here is super nice. The lady that was working asked how I enjoyed my meal as if she truly cared and was looking for feedback. --Overall: Despite the small oversight with the chipotle mayo and the average fries, I feel this is a place that I will be returning to. I'll try some of the other sides like the fried pickle chips or bacon fries and hopefully get the flavorful sauces I desire, but even despite those missteps, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here.

Bison burger all the way! A great place to go healthy or not depending on what you're looking for. My first visit, I opted for no bun and didn't order a side of fries. The burger was delicious all on its own. Next time however, I am ordering the fries. They looked delicious! This place is a lunch splurge, especially if you're ordering the bison. Worth it, though.

Ummm! That is a tasty burger. - Samuel L Jackson in Pulp Fiction. Food was good, people were friendly.
(5)Richie W.
Nice "gourmet" burgers. The bacon and cheese fries are good, however not for those who are weight-conscious. Note, the french fries come in a large portion. One portion is probably enough for two-three people. Whenever I have been it has been relatively quiet. There is lots of parking!
(4)Leah S.
Two meals here have provided me with the need to shout my "warm fuzzies" for Burgerworks. I'm not a huge "burger person" I really have to be in the mood for one. Tthough it was off to a slow start Burgerworks might be enough to make me crave a burger with more frequency. My first dining experience led me to the Blues Burger which was topped with sauteed onions, Danish blue cheese and a balsamic-port wine glaze. All the burgers, unless noted are natual 100% USDA certified black angus beef. While it had sounded good when reading it in reality I didn't fall in love with this combo the way that I thought I would. The combination of toppings just because too rich for me by the end and I wasn't able to fisish the burger. The parmesan fries on the other hand were the bomb dot com! My second visit had me going with an option that was a bit more on the healthy side, The Bird. This is a turkey burger with cilantro-avocado sour cream (OMG!), shredded lettuce, tomatoes (which I opted out of) crispy tortilla strips, and pepper jack cheese. First off, anything that has a. avocado, b. tortilla scrips and c. cheese in it generally can't be bad and this burger hit the mark for my tastebuds. The sour cream was not heavy on the cilantro flavor which was a relief as it can be an overpowering herb. A few items that are due for trying on future visits: onion rings and the BBA Bison Burger. You can also build your own burger with a multitude of meat and topping choices!
(4)Kate M.
The burgers are delicious and I love the concept of being able to choose everything about your burger. However, the burgers are overpriced. My family of four can go here and get burgers, sides, and drinks, and spend over $50. That is WAAAAY too high of a price point for a burger place which has counter service. A plain hamburger, no cheese or special toppings, costs about how much a burger would cost at a casual sit down restaurant, where fries or chips are included. That is not okay in my opinion. I agree that the burgers are phenomenal, but I just don't feel like they are worth the price point. We have only been there once, and have not returned. It is just not worth the money.
(3)Bryce R.
Service is once again very friendly and prompt. Burgers look beautiful, are well prepared. I love getting all my burgers with Texas toast instead of a regular bun. It's amazing. Our daughter (5) loves it here, too. Music isn't too loud or distracting. Place is quite clean and open floor plan makes it spacious and modern.
(4)Jeannie C.
A place where you can build your own. No dedicated fryer according to the staff (no fries) but when I said I was celiac and needed gf, they accommodated me very well and seemed eager to please. I got the Greek burger on a bed of mixed greens. Very tasty! The sweet tea is too sweet. So I mixed unsweetened and sweetened. Hubs had the fries which he loved and got the blues burger which he inhaled!
(4)Xida Z.
Nothing Special Laid out like a Chipotle, Burgerworks serves burgers made to order. Unlike Chipotle, they sell artsy burgers for premium prices. Fries are extra. Burger aficionados will salivate while equivocating between a Greek burger, a Mexican burger, and a bacon burger. The quality of the burger is judged on the texture of the meat and this is where Burgerworks falls short. Spend a couple dollars more and go to Burger Bach if you're not in a hurry. Ambiance and Service 4 Food 3 Value 2

Yesterday was a warm day here in Richmond and I was hungry, however I did not want to eat much, so I decided to stop in at Burger Works to order just an appetizer and Drink for dinner. Upon looking at their menu which is nicely laid out for easy reading, I decided on the French Fries with Cheese & Bacon. I feel with Cheese & Bacon, you cannot go wrong, as I love BACON! When the Fries came out they were hot and smothered in Cheddar Cheese and lots of Bacon. I was overwhelmed, and wondered if I had bought a meal or Appetizer... :-) I could not believe in how much cheese they added with the mountain of fries. In addition, every bite had bacon on it and with the combination of cheese & Bacon... I could not wait for my 2nd and 3rd bite. The Owner came over to ask how everything was and I had to tell him excellent. He than asked if I had tried the Deep Fried Dill Pickles. I said I had, and I enjoyed those as well.... He than told me how they are deep frying the pickles a little differently in slices and wanted to know if I would like to try them. I love Dill Pickles and his offer was too good to turn down. When the Pickles came out, I bit into one with the Chipotle Ranch dressing, I was again WOW! They were much better and cooked better than the way they were cooking them before. The Chipotle Ranch really set it off in taste and flavor. However for those who want a different dressing, they have many to choose from. So, in the end, I had to box much of what I had as I could not eat it all. I was overwhelmed in great food and the Owner and Manager made me feel like this was my place to visit often. So, I hope you will visit Burger Works as they are the only place in the Westend of Richmond which serves a Bison Burger. Bison Burgers have less fat and leaner with more taste than a regular hamburger. I have posted several photos on Yelp, in regards to what I have eaten. If you bump into me at the Order Counter buying another great dish... do not be surprise, I plan to go back as they have wonderful food for you and the family... See you there! :-))
(5)Laura L.
Whooooooooa. As I've said before in other reviews, burgers and American fare aren't my thang. BUT, I will gladly come to Burgerworks every day for the rest of my life and be happy as a clam! The setting of the restaurant is very modern and clean. It's a little overwhelming to look at the menu at first, but once you get it, you get it. It's easy from there! Everyone is so friendly, too! My BF had the BBQ bison burger = OMG yum. I took one bite and kept giving him the sly puppy dog eyes to see if I could get another bite but sadly.... he didn't notice because the burger was just that delicious. I made my own burger with 1/3 lb beef patty, avocado cilantro sour cream and other delicious toppings that I cannot remember right now. The only complaint is that I chose ciabatta bread -- maybe not the best for a burger. Wish I had gotten wheat instead! But otherwise, still delicious and I was a happy girl. We also split the parmesan fries.. mmm, these may be my new favorite fries in the world. For $3.xx, you get a huge platter of fries covered in parmesan and cilantro (I think..) WOOOOOOOOOOOOO. so so yummy. I said I was full but I kept on eating because it was so good.
(5)Jonathan S.
Excellent burgers, friendly staff, clean dining space! Great spot! Be sure to try the Blues Burger!
(5)Emily R.
I've been craving a burger since someone stated that In & Out had the best burgers (I shot back and said they were overrated). So, on an attempt to try a new locally owned burger joint, we decided to check out Burgerworks. It was in our "passport" so we thought why not! We both decided to try it "their way" with a S.O.B. (Me) and BBQ Bison Burger (husband) and because it was Friday, a side of parmesan fries and fried pickles. I have to say, I LOVED my burger. The guac was delicious (housemade!) and the tortillas strips gave it an unexpected crunch that I'm kind of in love with. I remembered putting chips on my sandwiches as a kid and this was just like that, but better! It's definitely a spicy burger with the sliced jalapenos, but I LOVED it! I also had to try a bite of the BBQ Bison Burger. My husband likes the taste of bison, but for what it's worth, I like my meat with a little more fat, but a great alternative if you want the "red meat" taste without the fat the comes with a normal burger. Their BBQ sauce was surprisingly sweet and went well with the bacon and white cheddar! Now, the sides. I could've been happy with just the sides! The dill pickles were thickly sliced, thinly battered, and served with a side of their chipotle ranch. Because of the thickness of the pickle, it stood up and remained crispier than any fried pickle chip I've had before. The chipotle ranch was actually a sweet southwest flavor and went great with the pickles. And the parmesan fries -- yum! The basket was bigger than we expected so we ended up leaving almost half there! It's a nice alternative to the regular fries, so we were pleased but will know better to only order the pickles or the fries when we come back! For the overall experience, they were very good to check and see how things were going and even delivered our sides out early as we waited for our burgers which was a nice touch! It was a little more pricey than expected, but we were pleased with our experience and will definitely be back!

I had a turkey burger with grilled onions, cheese and mushrooms. It was a good burger. Best turkey burger I have had. Why only 3 stars? Because they are way too expensive. $8 for one burger is too much. The prices are the only reason why I will not be returning.

I love Burgerworks! My fiance and I love to try new gourmet burgers and this is one of my favorites! We started to come in so often that we're recognizable now :) The variety of ingredients is fantastic - I can create my perfect burger with spring mix, chipotle mayo, bbq sauce, a fried egg, and bacon mmm. My fiance likes to create his own burgers too but likes the ones on the menu as well, like the SOB. The burgers are juicy and not too lean, but I can only speak for the beef. I also always get parmesan fries (and ask for a side of chipotle mayo), but it can be greasy if you're not in the mood for them. This is a great business with a lot to offer! What's special about burgerworks is the ability to craft your own burger with a variety of high quality ingredients. I go to a lot of burger joints and have a hard time finding one that matches up.

Good burgers, but didn't quite live up to the hype for me. I'll compare them to Five Guys. The burger itself for me was comparable. The qualities of the ingredients was a bit better and more in quantity than Five Guys, especially the sauteed onions (whole onions instead of chopped onions). The fries were good, but sometimes I prefer the boardwalk style fries. Maybe if it was closer, but driving out 20 minutes vs 5 minutes was not worth it, although it is a very good burger. Also did not try the bison burger yet and maybe that would change my mind. It is A-OK, but too many other good burgers near the city that I could go to for a burger fix like Five Guys, Strange Matter, Carytown Burgers, Burger Bach, Honey Whytes...

This place just knows how to really put together a very good "gourmet" burger! On my most recent visit, I was able to actually request my burger to be cooked medium rare instead of the med. well it usually turns out to be. Unfortunately, even per my request, it was still came out to be a medium well patty.. but it was still pretty juicy and delicious. I got the S.O.B. which has guacamole, tomato, 2/3 llb beef patty, american Cheese, Jalapeno peppers, Chipotle Mayo, and tortilla chips. Damn, this is such a good burger. All the ingredients work so well together and the spicy mayo and jalapenos give the burger a nice kick of spices as well. I always ask for a extra side of chipotle mayo just in case I need it. I also got the Parmesan fries which are fried to perfection and come straight from the fryer so it's piping hot. Solid burgers, great fries and good customer service. If Burger Works, you're reading this, please incorporate Sliders and Sweet Potato fries onto your menu!!

Tried this place since they had bison burgers. They were ok, but not something I would go back for. It is good if you are driving through town and want to take someone there for variety, which they have. The service was great and the venue was cute.

Burger works is the ultimate craftsmanship of the burger world. What ever you want on it they can do and what ever you want your burger made of, they can do. They have veggie, turkey, beef, bison. I usually go bison burger with their parmesan fries. They are a little pricey but they are great quality.
(4)Daniel W.
Everything is good, sure but the...oh boy. The bacon cheddar fries. The bacon cheddar fries will make you cry. If they don't make you cry tis only because you have no heart. If you do have a heart. Call you're cardiologist, you'll need them. Since you're calling them anyway use all of the provided ranch dipping sauce, both of them. For this combination of starchy, cheesy, porky, mayonnaisey goodness is a gift from whatever/whomever you find holy. Be thankful. I am. Godspeed.

I am sad to say I don't think I'd come back again, but I saw that the effort was there. I went with "DaBOM" burger, which was a burger with bacon and fried onions, lettuce, tomato, chipotle mayo, Gouda cheese, and a fried egg (which I asked to be done over easy). I asked if they could make my burger medium but was told they didn't do that. I also ordered a side of their Parmesan french fries (which are huge), and a peppermint milkshake that they were advertising as their special that day. The total came to $21.80, which is pretty high for the amount of food I ordered imo. But I thought to myself, hey, it's probably worth it, so many Yelpers raved about them so it must be good! Not the case. I think my burger was put together poorly, or maybe I just don't know how to eat a burger? But it was falling apart at every bite that I eventually needed to succumb to a fork. The burger was also just cooked too well done for my taste, and the Parmesan fries were disappointing. When they were brought out, they not only looked, but tasted like they had been sitting out for quite a while. The cheese was not in the least bit melted, and the fries tasted stale and almost potato-chip like. The shake also did not taste anything like Haagen Dazs ice cream as advertised and just wasn't doing it for me! I think the only thing I really enjoyed were the onion rings one of my other friends ordered as their side.

This local burger joint is crazy clean, organized, and the food is fresh & delicious. The build-your-own fad has made Burger Works...work (no pun intended). The only stink I've had was the time I opted for a salad instead of a burger, the lettuce was thinly chopped like you'd see on top of a burger. I was expecting more of a spring mix or variety instead of basic iceberg. The manager/owner is pleasant and always attentive to the customers. Even though my partner and I have ate there a handful of times, he remembers us and makes sure to stop by on each visit. Kudos to the food, cleanliness, and great customer service.
(5)Katrina F.
Venison burger! It was the best burger I have had in the west end! Clean and great service.
(5)Mike L.
Recently my son and I tried Burgerworks for a second and last time. The restaurant design is a loose attempt to mimic Smashburger (which are now all over DC, yay) and is clean with a smooth ordering system. The burgers are average at best, if they come out correct, and both times our fries came AFTER we finished the burger. Multiple times we would ask for the fries, they were always "on the way" and both times delivered in a perfunctory manner. Ironically, the second trip was mainly because after the first experience, the manager-type gave me a card for a free order of fries the next time we came! No such offer the second time and it wouldn't have been enough to get me back anyway.
(2)Anna T.
Created my own burger: -Portabella mushroom cap -Aged Swiss -Avocado -Classic Egg Bun -Sauteed Onions (this would be kickass if it was caramelized onions!) -Mayo Thoughts? Super Juicy (a bit too juicy? My burger was a hot mess within the first bite) Not the most flattering item to devour but it was succulent. Parmesan fries = Mcdonalds fries + Parmesan cheese. (er...I don't know how I feel about it but i kinda wanna order it again.)

There are a lot of great things about Burgerworks that will keep me coming back. It is a haven for you build-your-own lovers. There are tons customization and all the sauces and toppings look great. My biggest downside here was how expensive everything was. The burgers by themselves are $8 with no side. Add some fries and drink and I paid $15 for my meal. I feel like that's a little too much for a burger place. I had a "Da B.O.M." turkey burger with a side of parmesean fries because I read a lot of recommendations for that on Yelp before stopping by. The fries were ok, I didn't really see the hype. They do give you a large amount (one order could easily feed two people) but the fries were room-temperature/lukewarm when I got them out about 5 minutes before my burger came. If the parmesean cheese were melted a little bit so there wasn't just piles of parmesean everywhere and the fires were hot I would have been a lot happier. I'll probably get another side next time to see how they compare. The burger itself was really good and made the meal. I got the traditional egg bun, which is thick but full of flavor. My burger had lots of great toppings and everything was cooked well. The onion rings inside my burger were delicious and gave it a great crunch to offset the bun consistency. The service here is also great. This was my first time coming and I guess the manager overheard me saying that to the cashier and he was extremely helpful. He hand delivered my food, took my trash, and refilled my drink for me. I was really impressed by this. Also the restaurant was very clean and I frequently saw employees sweeping and wiping down tables.

Come here about every other month or so. This review is a bit late. Sorry. Bison Burger was good as per usual. But what happened to the onion rings guys? They used to be the bomb.
(4)Cristi J.
Seriously, get the parmesan fries! You get a HUGE shareable basket and they are delicious! Last time I went I got the S.O.B. and the other people I was dining with got a turkey burger and the Portabella Veggie. The staff is always super nice and you get your food fast. I've only been here a few times but its always a spot on. I def. recommend if you're a burger lover!

Another suburban strip mall surprise! Stopped in here for lunch today (Sept. 4) when I was both hungry and had some time on my hands before the next meeting. Antibiotic and hormone-free beef: check! (That's a must for cancer-warrior me, as I've mentioned elsewhere.) I had the S.O.B. burger, which included some outstanding jalapeno slices and some truly magic condiment mix that I won't even try to parse. Service was swift - undoubtedly helped by the fact that it's counter order/server deliver. Burger tasted really terrific, cooked exactly medium rare as ordered. Bun fell apart on me, but that was A-OK, since I'd snagged a knife and fork. My only two kvetches: the paper basket insert fell apart in a way that sucked up part of my burger's awesome bits'n'pieces; they have no bar. Small complaints, granted! Highly recommended for the burgers, and will look forward to a return trip to check out the onion rings.
(4)Elizabeth F.
It is good, but I am not sure it is $25 worth of good for two burgers and sides for lunch for two.
(3)Duncan T.
Great quality meats and amazing toppings. Everything is fresh and made fresh to order. Love this place!
(5)John K.
I was excited to find such a highly rated burger joint close to my hotel. I was in the mood for a good burger, and the ratings at BurgerWorks are so high I couldn't go wrong, right? The restaurant is clean and the staff was professional. I ordered the BBQ Bison burger with Onion rings. The burger was extremely dry - I needed to supplement the BBQ sauce with some ketchup (which I was fine with). The main problem I had was the Bison meat was extremely wild, to the point of tasting not fresh. It turned my stomach so much I couldn't finish my burger (and I ALWAYS finish my burger). The bun was also hard and seemed a little past its prime to me. This wouldn't have been as big a deal, except for the fact that the bun is gigantic. Also, the burger costs $11, so there's that... The onion rings were the highlight of the meal, and they were just average. Tasted good, but seemed like they had been cooked earlier in the day. There may be better things to order, and it crossed my mind that the buffalo and rings may not get ordered much, but for close to $20 the food should be fresh and outstanding. Extremely disappointed, and I won't return.

Its RVA Burger week, so I stopped by Burgerworks for the 1st time.. not knowing how the $5 deal works.. overheard a lady in front of me get details.. so I ordered the classic burger to get the deal.. I get toppings on my burger.. and everything seemed fine.. until i got my receipt.. and noticed i was charged $6.99 for just my burger, so I ask why it wasnt the $5 deal.. THEN she tells me it had to be the classic burger no toppings.. well that would have been nice to know BEFORE you took the order and made my burger, so I was pretty upset at that.. I dont mind paying extra for a good burger, I just dont like cashiers who dont inform me on what the deal is. Its a shame because the girl was nice.. she just didnt bother to tell me that my burger wouldnt be part of the deal. On another note.. the burger was delicious. It had no choice but to be since I had to pay full price for it and didnt get the 2nd order of fries I asked for either!. I would have been pretty upset if it wasnt good. Would I go back to this place? umm... hard to say.. maybe.. if i wanted to spend alot for it.. In this day and age with so many places having combos and such I cant understand why one single burger cost $7 with no fries or drink.. so by the time you get those things you have spent $15 a person.. thats ridiculous for a fast food place IMO.

Amazing service and great food!!!!
(5)Bennett J.
I don't usually use 2 stars for a review and this place wasn't bad at all but as Yelp says "I've experienced better." I wound up spending $15 on just a burger and fries at a fast food place, which would be fine if it was amazing, but considering the quality I don't think it was worth it. I've been wanting to try a bison burger for a while and sadly I didn't notice any real difference between bison meat and quality burgers at other restaurants. Maybe it was because it was smothered in cheese, bbq sauce, bacon, and an onion ring, but I didn't taste anything amazingly different. But the burger was delicious and hit the spot for a lunch break from work. I got the parmesan fries based on other recommendations and they were good but the portion was so massive I felt pretty gross after eating only half of them. This place was good but not great and honestly next time I'm craving a tasty burger I'll probably go to a local spot like Carrytown burgers or a 5 guys.

Been living area quite sometime, and always driving by this place so I decided give this place a try. Burger is amazing, clean and friendly. Burger not as dry, its on point. Had the SOB which was very interesting. It was great with french toast and had burger bun my second visit. Def be back for sure. Quailty burger if you ever need a good fixtures for burgers. Place to be

I decided to go to Burgerworks for a late lunch.Burgerworks is cool because you can create your own burger in multiple ways or order a signature burger. You can choose everything from bread to toppings. It's only a charge if you add a premium topping. I decided to go with one of Burgerworks signature burgers. I was hungry and didn't want to take forever creating my own burger. I chose the DA B.O.M burger (Horseradish-bacon mayo, smoked Gouda, Sauteed mushrooms, Applewood smoked bacon, crispy hand battered onion rings, Cabot white cheddar, BBQ sauce).I added extra white cheddar and chipotle mayo on the side. Let me tell you, the burger was the bomb! I enjoy every bite of the delicious burger. The meat was nice and juicy. The cheese and topping on the burger is good quality. Burgerworks doesn't short your burger on toppings. I think I've found the best burger in Richmond. I ordered a side of parmesan fries. The chipotle mayo is a great dipping sauce for the fries. The side of fries is enough for 2 or 3 people. During late lunch hours, the restaurant wasn't very crowded (Monday). My food came out fast and hot. The employees were friendly and very attentive. The restaurant was clean.Burgerworks has a nice family atmosphere. I'm definitely coming back to try other burgers on the menu. If you're looking for a good quality burger in Richmond, Burgerworks is a great choice.
(5)Laura R.
Very good burger overall. The fries and burger was loaded with flavor. Only draw backs were the price and they are still kinda slow. I assume this will get better with time. Definitely worth a trip.

Be prepared for the works! The restaurant was very clean, open, and modern. When it comes to ordering you have two options: signature premade orders or create your own. I found it best to grab a menu and look it over. I ordered a turkey burger on a whole wheat bun with cilantro sour cream + chipolte mayo mushrooms red onions jalapeños on the side and a fried egg. The wait to order the food was a bit since the guy in front ordered a large lunch prob for a few co-workers. The cashier was friendly enough to explain the custom burger ordering process. Btw an egg bun is a regular seedless burger bun similar to that of McDonalds. You can get multiple sauces & toppings. Special toppings and cheese are extra. The food came out fairly quickly. I also ordered the parmesan cheese fries they came out first. It was a large basket, but tasted delicious! :0) The burger was next it was nicely stacked and plated. Great burger, sadly the mushrooms were missing. One of the restaurant staff came by checking on the food quality. We mentioned it was ok. The staff person came by asking why just ok. I simply explained the reason. He offered us milkshakes for the mistake and thanked us for the feedback. I was glad he just don't brush off our ok and took the time to ask why and listen. I'll be willing to come back and try again. I couldn't rate it the 3.5 it deserved. If the order came out correctly I would bump up the scoring. But in the end a great meal that will fill you up and good savory taste.

Burger Works was excellent. I wanted to give it a try and wanted to try a new spot for Mother's Day and I am glad we did. My family and I tried the Chicken Burgers on Whole Wheat Buns and Parmesan Fries and it was the Best. We came back on Monday to try the Breakfast and we had the Egg Whites, Turkey Sausage and Cheese Wrap and it was Excellent, my significant other had his on Texas Toast and he loved it. The Coffee was great as well, we had never had coffee from a local distributor. We also tried the Turkey Burgers and Onion Rings the next evening and it was great as well. Everything about Burger Works was great. The staff was great and a nice clean atmosphere. Keep up the good work.
(5)Jessica W.
I got the bison burger on a bed of lettuce, it was delicious. Management was attentive, staff was responsive. Great place to eat!
(5)Joann R.
I love Burger Works...and I am not a burger fan. I've tried the Bison, Boar, Turkey, Lamb, and Chicken. Strangely though, I've never tried a beef burger there. I digress. My absolute favorite combination is a chicken burger with port balsamic glaze, jalapenos, Vidalia onion, spring mix and pepper jack cheese. Great quality meats and ingredients, clean store, ample seating, TVs, and just plain great, friendly people who are completely customer focused. Come to think of it, I don't think I even eat burgers anywhere else!
(5)Ann F.
Love Burgerworks!! I love the casual atmosphere, and the burgers are made with fresh ingredients and are very tasty. I recommend their burger creations - so many different unique burgers to try. Da BOM is my favorite! The fries and onion rings are amazing too. I will admit it's a little pricey, but split the fries and you're good to go.
(4)Jamie D.
I finally tried Burgerworks yesterday, and I was totally pleased by the entire experience. The interior is just as expected - it looks like any other cookie cutter pay-at-the-counter joint with little decorative ambiance, but the personal staff interaction and the quality grub (and the fact that it's locally owned) is what puts this place over the rest. You can either choose one of their specially created burgers ("our way") or do a build your own ("your way"). I wanted it my way, so I went with the veggie burger on a wheat bun topped with white cheddar, tomato, pickles, onions, lettuce, ketchup and mustard. The veggie burger option is actually a large, juicy portabella mushroom cap, rather than a veggie or black bean patty. I love me some portabellas so I was stoked to find this out. The mushroom was cooked perfectly and the end result was a deliciously thick and tender 'bella with all the necessary accompaniments to create an amazing sammie. I also wanted fries, but I can rarely finish an entire burger, let alone an order of fries in addition. So I was pleased as punch when I discovered Burgerworks lets you request a 1/2 order of fries. It was still a ton of food, and I didn't finish the burger or the fries, but I delighted in filling up on some of both menu items. The fries were crispy on the outside, potato-y on the inside, and just the right size without being too thin or too thick. Sadly, you can't order the parmesan fries in a smaller size, so I'll have to visit Burgerworks again with a friend and share those suckers. Burgerworks offers wifi (make sure to request the password at the counter), so I decided to dine in and get some work done. While I was there, three different employees checked on me to make sure my experience was enjoyable. At a place like this, where there isn't table service, the staff could easily limit their interactions to twice (once when you order, the other when they bring your food). So I was impressed by the interest they all took in their customers. Kudos to that! That alone - well, and the fact that the food was tasty - is what will have me returning to Burgerworks in the future.
(4)Ross J.
The atmosphere is a bit intimidating to me at first as it looks more like a place that would shame you for not ordering a kale salad. Not true in reality, thankfully. You get to check off a list of whatever you want on a custom burger if you want. So you can order it as unhealthy (delicious) as you want it with no shame! My wife and I stuffed ourselves to the point of medical worry with goodness then left fat and happy. We'll just me, my wife left beautiful and happy.

Gotta give credit when it's due. Tyler is one talented chef! I've been to Burgerworks a few times. But on my last visit, I ordered a colossal custom double patty bison burger with a ton of toppings. I rarely order burgers like that because whenever I do, they either come out looking unappealing because they were carelessly slabbed together or they're so messy that it's hard to enjoy eating. But that was totally not the case yesterday. Tyler did his thing! Not only was the presentation of this burger superb, but the taste was phenomenal, and it even stayed together pretty much the entire time. Making a burger that complex is an art. So after I finished the burger, I talked to him a little and he told me his secret. Which was sometimes you have to put certain toppings on the bottom of the burger or even in between the patties, because putting everything on top is what cases it to slide and fall apart. And he also expressed the importance of toothpicks. I'm sure all that is easier said than done. So with that said, I'll leave it to him to keep doing. Some cool things about Burgerworks is that you can get your burger in a beef, bison, turkey, chicken, or veggie patty. And they also have a good amount of burger/ frie sauces. As for their other food, I had some of their signature burgers and they were also very delicious. The fries are really good and the small is quite large. I love the regular fries and the parmesan fries, but I was a little disappointed with the cheddar bacon fries because they seemed to be lacking flavor. Their milkshakes are also very good. I just wish they had more flavors and whipped cream. As for the restaurant itself, it's relatively new. Or at least it looks new and it's quite spacious. There's also three tv's in the dining area and they even have a few tables outside for outdoor dining. All in all, Burgerworks has good quality food at relatively low prices.

I came here for #RVABurgerWeek, since this was so close to where I live. Atmosphere was nice, on par with what you'd find at Chipotle or a 5-Guys. Kind of low-key to mid depending on how busy they are. The food was good but not mind-blowing. The Burger Week special did offer something unique in it's components, and I appreciated that. The fries were competitive in taste with 5-Guys, and I liked that as well. The service was probably the most impressionable for me. It was reminiscent of the hospitality of Chik-Fil-A where they'd bring your order straight to your table once it was ready, and they'd even take the items off your table when you finished. I'll probably come back plenty of times hereafter instead of defaulting to the Chipotle across the side-street from them.
(4)Juan M.
The burgers were pretty dry. If you prefer the sweet potato chips, be prepared for cold chips. They don't make them hot. The cheese fries are OK but overall this places is mediocre at best.
(3)Nikki V.
This was our first time visiting this location as we were traveling through. The place is huge and the staff is nice and helpful. The burger was not all that but they do give you a lot of fries. I am not sure we will be coming back because it seemed like another burger joint to me.
(2)Krystle E.
It's #RVABurgerweek and this was my first stop of the week. This was my second time eating here and it makes me think why don't I come her more often to get a burger. I got the burger that was on special for the week which was the frito chili pie burger. Man was this thing good and messy. Smothered with chili, onions and fritos. The patty itself was cooked properly, nice and juicy, and the fries were hot, fresh and crispy. Had to pass on the cheese because I can't have it, but none the less it was an amazing burger. Service was amazing as well, although there is not a wait staff, staff members were walking around making sure you were doing ok, and if there was something that you wanted they were willing to get it for you. Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a fresh hand formed burger. Price can be a little high if you're building your own burger, but let me tell you, it is going to be money well spent.
(5)Chanhong L.
Went here for RVA Sandwich week and I was not disappointed! You order and pay at a counter and they give you a number allowing you to sit anywhere, and when your food is ready, they bring it out to you. The burger itself was a "50/50 lamb and beef mixture with Tzatziki sauce, red onion, tomato, banana peppers, and feta cheese." I really enjoyed this "gyro" burger because it wasn't all beef and because it had feta cheese on it. The feta was strong but that's what made the burger stand out. Additionally, because the feta was so strong, I couldn't really taste the spiciness of the banana peppers, which I actually didn't mind because I really can't handle spicy foods. The burger was also the perfect size: not too big that everything was falling off and not too small, leaving me satiated after the meal. All in all, I really like how Burgerworks uses ingredients not normally found on a burger, and I'm really interested to see what their 100% beef patty tastes like so I will definitely check this place out again!

MUST GO. Had a SOB chicken burger with Fries worth money spend. Friendly, yummy food. Will return for more.

Just finished another great meal experience at Burgerworks. Snuck in early before the after work crowd arrived. Ordered the original beef burger and my guest had the turkey burger. Both cooked perfectly. Blue Bell Ice Cream Milkshakes rounded out the meal and wowza were they good! Customer Service is on point here as usual. Great, helpful, and friendly staff. Good job Burgerworks!

Stopped in at Burger Works for a late dinner. One thing that I've realized is that I become impatient waiting for my food here. I think it's because it feels like a fast food place but they don't actually have food already prepared. Which is a good thing, don't get me wrong. This time I called the order in on my way and it was ready and waiting when I got there in 10 minutes. I highly recommend doing that if you are as impatient as me. I just got a regular burger and fries and although it was ordered ahead of time it was still hot and fresh. I'm apparently a burger person as I'm learning more and more these days, and it was excellent. The fries are fresh cut and always tasty. I also learned they don't mind if people come in just to sit for a minute. A man walked in and sat down at a table next to us to get on his laptop for a bit and then left. Maybe you need another place to work for a few minutes, this could be your new spot!
(4)Nathan B.
All in all, a pretty decent burger and fries place. A little more "out of the box" on the toppings, buns and such than 5-Guys, which is probably the closest thing to compare to, but I don't find the burger quite as good as 5-Guys. The only real issue is that for what it is, Burger Works is pretty expensive. I've been here a few times and while I do like it, it's not going to be a regular place for me. If it was a little less money that might persuade.

"Eh." When my co-workers suggested Burgerworks, I was skeptical that I wouldn't find anything that I could eat (new vegan). Fortunately, they had a portobello mushroom option and allowed you to build your own to keep all the ingredients in check. I ordered the portobello "burger" on a bed of lettuce with roasted red peppers and sauteed onions. I was looking forward to receiving a big, juicy 'bello, but when it came out it was thin and disappointing. I cook portobellos all the time and was so disappointed with how they dished mine out. It was thin, slimy, and unrewarding to eat. The roasted red peppers were good, but overall I have to say that my meal and my experience were mediocre. I wish they had a bean burger option. Even when I did eat meat, I still enjoyed a good veggie burger. It may solve their mushroom dilemma.
(2)Jared G.
We ate an early dinner here today. Nice minimalist interior decor and very clean. The staff was friendly and courteous. I had the Bison burger with Swiss and mushrooms on whole wheat. we shared a basket of fries. The bison burger was excellent! It was very juicy, and plenty big enough. The fries were fantastic - fresh cut with the skin on and also crispy and not too salty. The only reason I rated 4 stars instead of 5 was the price. Our bill was over $25 for 2 burgers, 2 drinks and one basket of fries. I will go back, just not as often! J

Locally owned? Super friendly? Super clean? Awesome food? This place hits all the right notes! In case you couldn't tell - I REALLY enjoyed my Burgerworks experience. I was out in the West End running errands and decided to give this place a try. I have really gotten sick of Five Guys in recent years - it just seems soooo greasy so I was hoping Burgerworks could be a new go to place. When you walk in there is a huge menu on the wall behind the registers where you place your order - there are a ton of options so it might take you a while. I kind of panicked and just got one of the "our way" burgers - S.O.B. I also wanted to try their onion rings because everyone on yelp said how great they were. I asked if I could get a small order of them since it was just me and the nice lady that worked there said she could give me a child's size that was only 4 onion rings - that sounded perfect! Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) when they came out it was clearly the regular portion of 8 or 9 onion rings which were delicious but I wasn't able to finish them. My onion rings were brought out first and the folks working there were just so nice! My burger came out next and it was soooo fresh and yummy. I can't wait to go back and a bunch of different types and also try their fries! I am just glad that there is a non-five guys alternative to the local burger place in Richmond!

I am sure I wasn't the only one skeptical of 'another' burger place in Glen Allen. But I really can't recommend this place enough. My family of four went for dinner. for about $34. My husband and I both got the turkey burgers, obviously hand made and hanging off the bun. He got "The BIrd" which had many toppings and I stayed simple with Danish Bleu Cheese. He decided on Parmesan French Fries. The kids got sliders and a grilled cheese. The turkey burgers were juicy and not even one bit overdone. I loved the option of having a wheat bun. The fries were good but I would stick with the plain fries rather than go for the parmesan. It didn't do anything for me. The sliders were the perfect size for my 8 yr old and the grilled cheese was great (I tested them both!). Its obvious that the attention to detail inside. The interior is bright, with tables and booths. The menu on the wall is hard to read and would be much better placed elsewhere, but giving out paper menus at the register makes the choosing easier. We were never lacking in service, smiles or roaming (what I assume to be) owners/ managers. The place was incredibly clean and although not packed, had a steady flow of people in and out. Food came out fast and hot. Go here. Eat the deliciousness and know that you can come here and get a turkey burger, bison burger or even a marinated portebello mushroom burger anytime.

Wanted to go out for a burger with family and this spot was suggested. Overall very pleased with the choice. Very clean and staff helpful. I stuck with the classic burger and was very satisfied. The French fries were great. A great addition. Only regret was the fried pickles. Would suggest avoiding them.

I had my first bison burger here and it was out of this world. I had one of the pre-made ones and it was SO on point that half of it was plenty! Boyfriend had the rest the next day and he loved it just as much! This place is really amazing.

I was craving a burger, the first time we came to burgerworks. To me a burger should be juicy and messy and the first time, it did not disappoint. I ordered 'the bird' but with a beef burger and it was just delicious. The sauces were full of flavor and the patty was perfect amount of juicy and meaty. The fries are hand cut and go great with the malt vinegar they offer at the condiments counter. It was so wonderful I had to return. The second time I had the burger my way. My way was a bit disappointing. The burger was drier abd my choice of toppings didn't showcase like I expected. I did try the onion rings this time. They are great with a good amount of crunch due to the panko bread crumbs but didn't seem to be many consider the price. I did get to try the veggie sandwich and it was great. Perhaps a bit too most but the veggies were grilled perfectly and had great flavor. Definitely worth a third visit.

Some of the best burgers I have ever tried. Wonderful selection and ability to build any type of burger you can imagine. Eat there now, so that when it is franchised out you can taunt all your hipster friends about how you ate there before it was mainstream.
(5)Sarah S.
I had the best burger that I ever ate here and it was only $6.99. You get to choose your own ingredients and I chose the normal bread, beef, mushrooms, gouda cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. I have been eating at "gourmet" burger places that are more expensive and they do not compare to this one. I will be coming here again.

We spotted Burger Works while navigating the madness of shopping in Short Pump on a Saturday afternoon. In a sea of franchise restaurants, we've been looking for some place other than the Whole Foods buffet to dine when in Short Pump so we were eager to check it out. As others have mentioned, this has franchise possibility written all over it, but for now this is the flagship restaurant and it's locally owned. There are tons of burger options here - a variety of proteins, in a variety of sizes, and served just about any way you want. We just wanted to sample a burger so we decided to share Da BOM and a basket of fried pickles. Da BOM lived up to its name! The burger was juicy and flavorful and I have a whole new set of favorite toppings for a burger - smoked gouda, bacon horseradish sauce, applewood smoked bacon, and onion rings. Oh my! It was so flavorful! The dill pickles were very good as well. Only slightly hungry, we still devoured everything very quickly. The burgers are pricier than say Five Guys, but they're also serving up quality ingredients. One 1/3 lb. specialty burger, the pickles, and the drinks came to about $15. For a good burger, I'm happy to pay a little more though and am looking forward to returning and exploring more of the menu.

Stop by there for lunch, and boy, I'm blown away by the burger. This isn't just any burger, this has the potential to blow you away too, depending on how you create your masterpiece. The one-two punch from the homemade sweeet potato chips and fried pickles finshed me off. Here's my award winning combo, 1/4 lb Bison, with Balsamic-Port wine glaze, aged swiss, spring mix, sauteed onions and mushrooms, applewood smoked bacon.

I'm a lady who loves some good burgers and considering how meat and veggies are my friend right now, I am always looking for great options in the Richmond area. I went with my fiance on a Friday before the evening crowd came through and was immediately impressed with the options. The service was attentive by giving us a menu to look at versus the large board with the details and some people will complain about the pricing and the lack of included sides but the burgers themselves are a meal. While it is easy to go with a specialty burger, I wanted to see how well they'd handle a custom order. I went with a 1/4 lb burger (which came as two patties) on a bed of spring mix instead of a bun, Cabot white cheddar (which was nice, sharp, and delicious), chipotle mayo (so good that I took the remainder home with me), lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard, and pickles. My fiance got Da B.O.M. since he couldn't decide with a chocolate milkshake which is way better at Bev's but satisfied his cravings. The layout of the place is like a typical burger place with drink dispensers, large ketchup pumps, and plenty of different tables. The place is also very clean which is a pleasant change from going to Five Guys and stepping in peanut shells all the time (I love that about Lone Star Steakhouse odd enough but not there). The food was brought to our table and I was thoroughly happy with the quality of the burger and veggies. The portion was perfect to satisfy my craving and I felt it was well worth the money. If I was on a tighter budget, I'd settle for Cookout or Five Guys but when you have the option, grass fed beef always tastes better. Between the variety of options to create your own burger, simple sides, and clean atmosphere, I'd say I'd return to Burger Works. As a side note, I didn't get to enjoy my food as long as I would have liked because I sat next to a couple who were feeding their baby french fries and were shocked when the baby started choking on one. My fiance and I immediately left after such a horrible display but I suppose you should get used to that when you go to a burger place that is willing to serve a burger on Texas Toast like they did for this couple.
(4)Denise T.
I give Burger Works five stars because I would definitely have to say they are "As good as it gets!" when it comes to burgers. They are doing something that makes their burgers stand out much more than five guys and other fast casual burger joints around. I am not 100% sure what the something is but I like it. I love that they have the turkey burger and mushroom patty options. The fries were definitely big enough to share with more than two people. I didn't love or hate the shake. I think for the price I would definitely skip it next time. customer service: I must say they were a little too on top of things. Three people came by our table to ask how we like our meal in less than two minutes. We probably had at least ten visits to the table by staff while we were there for about a half hour. I definitely appreciated the effort, but I hope it dies down a little over time. In a fast casual restaurant i don't think that level of attention is needed or required. An occasional check in is great...they asked if we needed refills which was nice.
(5)Veronica W.
Created my own burger and was very happy with the results. Juicy burger on fresh wheat bun. I have not had a real good burger in a long time, this one hit the spot. Great job!
(4)Kathleen P.
We went here last night and this is when I decided that this has to be the best place for "fast burgers" in Richmond (as opposed to a sit down and order place). We've been here a few times and they are always consistently great. Hamburgers are juicy, toppings are fresh and plentiful and the staff is always friendly. I made my version of my favorite restaurant burger- bacon guacamole burger. Is there any better burger than a bacon guacamole burger? No. I had beef, bacon, smoked Gouda, lettuce and a little mayo on a soft bun. It was perfect! The smoked Gouda was fantastic instead of the usual Swiss at other places for B/G burgers. My husband got buffalo with blue cheese & buffalo sauce on Texas toast. Delicious! Our little one got chicken tenders which were better than average. We got the Parmesan cheese fries which were fantastic! We'll try the bacon-cheddar fries next time! Typical of burger places, fries are ordered separately and are large enough for 2 people (or more) to share. Good, crispy fries! They have a lot of toppings to choose from to create your own awesome burger. They also have buffalo and turkey if you don't want beef. If you're looking for a great burger, you won't be disappointed at this place!
(5)Jason S.
People who give this place a bad review have some ulterior motive or serious personal problems. This is a damn good burger place. PERIOD.
(5)Rob M.
Great concept, great place. Wife and kids always happy here.
(4)Sally R.
We have been here five times. Today was our last visit. Though the fries are great, the burgers are just okay, and the staff made multiple errors in our last two visits. We gave it a chance, but it's time to move on.
(3)Casey C.
I may not be as big a fan as my counterpart, Ryan C., but as far as burgers go, this place is pretty damn special. They have burgers the way you want it, or specialty ones already put together. I prefer building my own burger, mostly because its cheaper that way. Some of the specialty burgers are $9 each! They do make excellent french fries and onion rings, and the last time we were there they gave us a free side of ranch with our fries. When I hear that Burger Bach is charging for ketchup, that gets 2 stars right there. Everyone working there is always very nice and helpful. I did order mushrooms on my burger the last time, though, and I didn't get them. Also, maybe I should stop getting the ciabatta bread, because my sandwich was too bread-y. The fantastic thing, though, is that its STILL good. I've had the beef and the turkey burgers and they were both so tasty. The tomato is huge and fresh, the pickles are thick and crunchy; it works. Personally, I think this place is on par with Carytown Burgers or Five Guys.
(4)Matt D.
Ok, so Burger Works definitely exceeded my expectations! While I wasn't in a hurry to drive miles west of my usual spots (Carytown Burger and Burger Bach) in the name of a good burger, I can't say I regret the trip! To a first-timer the menu was slightly overwhelming, but the myriad options make it worth the confusion. I was fairly hungry so I ordered a bison burger on whole wheat, a half order of fries, and a chocolate shake -- all of which arrived at the table within 3-5 minutes. The bison burger was delicious! It was flavorful and lean, without being prone to fall apart like others I have had in the past. Much like at Five Guys, the half-order of fries was MORE than enough for one person. Furthermore, if you blind folded me, I doubt if I could tell the difference between BW and Five Guy's fries. To finish off, I had a double chocolate milkshake, made with Haagen Daas ice cream. The thing cost me $5, so I would have been pretty pissed if it wasn't outstanding -- I was not disappointed. After a meal like that, I may never be hungry again, which is a good thing because my meal cost just over $16. It's not that I didn't enjoy my meal, I'm just slightly baffled that it managed to make Burger Bach look cheap despite having an inferior location. Given the casual "lunchy" atmosphere and the fact that we ordered at the register, I wasn't expecting anyone to wait on our table, but sure enough we had an attentive waitress. Just like at Noodles & Co, I wasn't sure if we were supposed to tip or not. You be the judge. Richmonders: If you've got a big appetite and money to burn, its worth putting aside your downtown/fan bias and making a trip out to Burger Works.
(4)Elle M.
Best.Burger.Ever. Hands down...this place blows 5 Guys & In-n-out right out of the water! Expect to: 1. Pay at least $7 per burger 2. Bite into the juiciest, most tender quality piece of beef on the East coast. 3. Get a good sized burger 4. Enjoy yourself thoroughly 5. Be alert & competent after eating. Know that feeling you get after eating a really greasy, weighed-down burger (or any other meal for that matter)? Well, you don't get that here. You'll go back to work & be able to Tweet your life away without falling asleep (let's be honest, no one gets anything worthwhile done after lunch regardless of what is eaten, but at least you won't fall asleep while you Tweet). If you're not the type of person to pay more than $4 for a burger, this place is not for you. Go to McHeartAttack's. If you think egg buns, cheese options, & antibiotic/hormone-free meat are too fancy schmancy, this place is not for you. Go to McHeartAttack's. If you like pink slime in your food, this place is not for you. Go to McHeartAttack's. If Bret's there, talk to him, super nice guy (the owner)!
(5)Frankie B.
Def going back after eating "the bird" yesterday! My ladyfriend had "the veggie" and also loved it. BETTER than Burger Bach, worth the drive if you are looking to spend $20+ dollars on 2 burgers and a side. The flavor combinations they come up with and the ingredients are awesome. The ciabatta bread on the veggie was mouth-watering good. Everyone should try this place, I want it to stay open! Con: Fried pickles didn't have much pickle flavor. The thick breading was really oily and oil got on everything including my shorts (came out with OxiClean stain spray).
(4)Chyna W.
I had the chicken burger served on bed of spring salad with cheddar cheese and mushrooms along with the Parmesan fries. This was a very good choice!! I will eat here again!

Thanks to you - my fellow yelpers - this place was first on my food itinerary when I flew in last week. I LOVE burgers so what better place to eat lunch after stepping off the plane? First things first: my family had driven by this place but had never eaten here. Hmm. Okay. I'll admit this gave me pause, but I trusted in yelp and forged ahead anyhow... so glad we did! Love this place! Wish I had one of these back home. When we walked in, they weren't very busy yet, something I was thankful for when I realized that we would be building burgers selection by selection rather than just ordering off a set menu. I walked both my parents through the selections, (they'd never had ciabatta?? what?), and was pleasantly surprised to spy out cold bottle beer chilling in ice right at the counter. Could this lunch get any better? YES. I ordered a classic burger with mayo: juicy, quality patty complimented by fresh lettuce, tomatoes and soft ciabatta roll. For a good size burger, I agree with the previous reviewer who said it was filling but not heavy - exactly! We also shared the french fries and an order of the fried pickles. Now, I happen to LOVE fried pickles and the batter on these was perfect - not too thick and not oily like some can be. That being said, I'd love it more if they'd trot out fried pickle *chips* rather than thin sliced pickles. With the slices, you bite into them and end up pulling the whole piece of pickle right out while simultaneously burning the living shinola out of your mouth. Fried pickle chips solves this dilemma. Take note, burger works, and you will own the world. If I seriously come back to town and you have this, I might hug you. And do a dance. I wanted to try the shakes but was too tempted by cold beer on a hot day. My bad. Next time. All in all: friendly faces, quick service, great food and cold beer. GREAT place!
(5)Swizzled T.
Really excellent burger, great french fries, and the best sweet tea (Luzianne's the only kind I'll drink). A bit pricey, spent about $12 on a burger (1/3 lb with am cheese lettuce pickle bacon mustard ketchup), fries, and a drink. But very clean and the staff was very friendly!
(4)Alexis O.
I would say that this place is alright, but not my favorite. The burgers are huge and taste good, but the veggie burger (which is a portabella mushroom) was the burger I had ordered and it was not my favorite. It was very hard to bite all the way through, thus making it very messy. My sister loved the fried pickles though; my favorite thing was the order of Parmesan french fries. So, overall, this place was alright, and if you go, order the Parmesan french fries.
(3)Shane J.
My wife and I ordered two burgers and a fry which ended up being more expensive than I expected. Not only was the price high the burgers weren't even good. The strength for this place is they have some really cool toppings, but the burgers themselves fall short for the price in my opinion.
(2)Bogdan S.
Get the 2/3 lbs. BBQ Bison Burger w/ everything!
(4)Raquel C.
excellent food!! i love the fact that you can make your own burger.. kind of like which wich but burger kind.. it is awesome! we order the cheese fries with sour cream and it was delissshh!! deff a come back!! i will say best burger place in RVA!
(5)XX L.
Love this place. This is a serious burger joint. When you first walk in, you'll immediately notice that it's clean and bright. As you turn your attention to the menu on the wall, you'll be greeted with 5 great meat options, 7 cheese options, 4 bun options, 12 sauce options... you're probably getting the idea. I love the "create your own" concept and they really have a ton of options so you can get truly creative. Yeah, I hadn't even ordered yet and I was already hopeful. A prompt and friendly greeting from the staff (so nice!) added to my expectations. You could say Burgerworks had me at hello. :) We don't make it down to Richmond often, but we've been to Burgerworks twice now. The first time, I created my own burger (using bison, but of course!) and the second time, I got the "Blues Burger." Loved them both, though you may need to grab some extra napkins! (Trust me, you'll need them!) The good news is that I was with a very understanding hubby who was too busy with his own mess to notice mine. :) For sides, try the house made sweet potato chips... they arrive piping hot, with honey poured on them. Unexpected. Heavenly.
(4)Emily W.
As someone who doesn't eat meat a place with the name "Burgerworks" would have probably passed under my radar if it were not for all the great Yelp reviews. Upon walking in the woman behind the counter asked if we had ever been there before, and when we said no she kindly explained the two different ways to order - "our way" with pre-made specialty burgers, or "your way" with a make your own burger selection. She even told us which were her favorites, and when I mentioned the Veggie, she said, as another reviewer complained, she liked it but it was messy, so I made my own. The burger I made was awesome, (though yes a little messy,) with a really great bun. I also had the fried pickles and onion rings, which were enjoyable. Just the fact that this restaurant offers a marinated portabella in place of a processed soy patty for a vegetarian option is wonderful and greatly appreciated. And for an order at the counter burger joint the service was very helpful and friendly. I definitely recommend this place and I will be going back when I'm in the area.
(5)Ryan E.
Burger Works is just plain awesome! I ordered their Da B.O.M. signature burger and and asked them to throw on some avocado and jalapenos, which they gladly did, and the result was mind blowing. There were numerous times I had to stop in the middle of eating just to inform my friend how good each bite was. The menu is initially intimidating but once you figure out how it works it's actually quite simple. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, which was unexpected for the way the restaurant was setup (ordering from a counter). But we were checked on a couple times during the meal and someone even cleaned off the table for us when we were done. The food alone deserves 5 stars, but it was a little pricey. I ordered a burger and a water and it was just over 10$. Nevertheless, I will definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone who shares a love of burgers.
(4)Arnold G.
My Wife asked me to bring her a Burger or something for lunch so I asked Siri, "Where's the best Burger near my location". Burgerworks, just 1/4 mile from where I was. I had a really good burger. I was glad to see a variety of burger meats. I always look for things on the menu that you can't find everywhere else. The Bison was pretty good w/ Onion Rings. Service was a bit confusing though. It is Self-Serve on your drink then the Waitress said, "Here are your Onion Rings" and left. Just about the time I was finishing the Rings the Burger came out. Timing is everything in a Restaurant. The wire baskets are OK for the Onion Rings but a plate of some kind would be better for the burger. You have to reach in and scoop up the sandwich from a paper lined basket. They are loaded with extra stuff which makes it difficult to lift without the stuff falling off. It wasn't a good time for me to vist because a young Sports Team had a bunch of tables pulled together and being their typical youth did not use their inside voice! The Music was up and the place echoed. I noticed most of the other customers stared at the TVs, there was not much conversation between them other than the Team. My wife said her "Classic Burger was very good and loved the Fries". This is a nice Bureger Joint. I'll go back to try something different but will get it to go next time. Oh, you really have to look for it. The trees in the Parking Lot cover the front view, I drove past it.
(3)Michael A.
Ok, I saw reviews that went both ways, but tonight- I'm craving meat (I've been dieting with the gf, and I'm out of state on a business trip so needless to say, I am not on a diet)... and it's right around the corner from my hotel! Got the 'da bomb' burger and a chocolate shake. Prepare to spend about $10, but it's so worth it! SO WORTH IT! I want to say more, but I need to go finish this nirvana in a bun! So much better than Red Robin and the like! The beef TASTES LIKE SOMETHING!!! And, I'm not usually a person that likes shrooms on his burger- but when they're fresh, not canned/jarred, and they have bite to them... flavor... yeah, this is one of those places you don't go to all the time- it's a treat, and well worth it! I'd love to come back and try a different burger next time I'm in town.
(4)Mel G.
My friend informed me this place was brand spankin new and was supposed to have a huge variety to choose from, including vegetarian (which she is). I honestly cannot remember what burger I had, I may have gone with the veggie just cause it sounded good from my friend describing it, but I do remember the sweet tea and friend pickles. Oh my goodness, that I think was my first fried pickle experience and I'm hooked! I look for them everywhere now. So yum. Service was quick and friendly, the place was clean too.
(4)Samantha T.
The burgers were delicious. The fried pickles were hot and crispy. $28 for two adults. Fries had no salt and none was available. One order was plenty for 2. The napkins are TERRIBLE. We even pointed it out to an employee who informed us that's what everyone says. They get a 4 for crappy napkins and no salt.
(4)Liz C.
I LOVED this place! My boyfriend and I each ordered the turkey burger and it was delicious! I ordered the small and still couldn't finish it all! The service was excellent and fries were great! Will definitely be back the next time we are passing through!
(5)Steve G.
I love burgers. Richmond has a few very good places to enjoy a nice burger. Some of them franchises and some of them local. Some are great, and some are sub par (That's putting it nicely). There is a degree of loyalty that some feel to certain areas and certain owners, which often skews reviews. I've eaten at them all. If I'm being completely objective, I have to say, Burger Works is probably the best burger in town. Whereas taste is concerned, home run. I had "da-bomb." It was quite a combination of flavors, but it was delicious. My wife had a regular cheeseburger and loved it. My son had the grilled cheese, and I took a bite, and was very impressed. It's not just the burger though, It is also the atmosphere. Many of the other places I prefer have limited and unpleasant seating. Burger Works made an investment for a great experience. I applaud you on that. It was a great all-around experience, and I will be back. I will also recommend it to others. If you are willing to get over yourself and step outside of the bounds of the city for a bite, you will not be disappointed. Long live Burger Works!
(5)Marc S.
10/15 Update - Had the bison burger with the toppings I like, another home run, lean, flavorful and a worthy counterpart to their beef. My wife got the veggie with portabello, avocado, grilled onions, almost enough to make me go veggie next time...almost. I've been here four times so far, and I can't complain about anything except a topping mix-up my last trip, but they quickly fixed it and offered us a free appetizer for the mistake. Wouldn't it be cool if the next famous franchise had its origins here in Richmond? If this place keeps making food this good, it may not be such a stretch.
(5)Zed D.
One of the best burger joints in the area. The food quality and quantity are both really good, prices are slightly on the higher side, but with quality and quantity it is justified. A must visit for all Burget Lovers.
(5)Angel S.
Since moving to Richmond I have eaten here at least half a dozen times. I have yet to build my own burger since their combo's are already great. The star attraction for me are the onion rings! This looks like a chain, but it is not. This place is locally owned and operated.
(5)David S.
As we were driving down Broad Street, I asked Siri for a highly-rated burger place nearby, and she suggested BurgerWorks. I'd already passed them, but I decided to turn around anyway, and I'm glad we did. We both ordered our burgers with Bleu Cheese; Diane had beef, while I went for the bison burger, which was too big for the bun. The portion of fries was also generous. And everything was very tasty, too. The manager came by and talked to us for a while -- this is the first of what they hope will be several restaurants, and they're still getting some of the kinks out during the soft opening. It'll be worth keeping an eye out for additional locations -- the design clearly indicates that they have expansion in mind.

My sons and I finally decided to try Burger Works today. We had driven up a few times before but didn't stop in because the place always seemed empty and that's not usually a good sign. The menu has burgers: "Our Way" or "Your Way" The "Our Way" burgers are their signature type burgers which none of us ordered because neither of my sons or I liked a lot of the toppings (like blue cheese). The "Your Way" burgers your own customizable burgers. 1/3, 1/2, or 2/3 pound burgers. Choose your sauces (eg, ketchup, mustard, buffalo hot sauce, etc.). Choose your toppings (eg, pickles, sauteed mushrooms, sauteed onions, vidalia onions, etc.) and the type of bun (regular egg bun or whole wheat). There are also bison burgers (extra charge of course) which I didn't try. Maybe next time The fries come as 1/2 or full basket, though the 1/2 basket is not mentioned on the menu. The full basket is enough for 2 or 3 people. We all ordered 1/2 pound burgers and I have to say they were delicious. It did seems as our 1/2 pound burger was 2 1/4 pound patties. The toppings were excellent. Mine had the vidalia onions, sauteed mushrooms, pickles and the buffalo wing sauce. The fries were excellent except for some reason they weren't very hot. One of the other reviews here mentioned that the fries weren't crisp. We didn't have that problem at all. My favorite fries in the world are at Five Guys and if these fries had been hot they would have been a close second to Five Guys. The menu states that the beef is 100% black Angus, no antibiotics, etc. Also, that the burgers are made from chuck, brisket, and beef short rib. *My* personal feeling is that Richmond won't be able to support a burger place which is this expensive. The three 1/2 pound burgers, one order of fries and two drinks came out to $36. That's a LOT of money for 3 burgers and an order of fries. But I REALLY hope I'm wrong about them not being around long b/c the food is great, the place is really clean, and the people there can't be any nicer.

Stopped in yesterday with my daughter. Service was outstanding, they made us feel like we were part of their family, great atmosphere. As hard as it would be to top the service, they did it with the food. Best onion rings I have ever had, piles of food arrived quick and hot, and juicy burger loaded with lettuce, tomatoes, sautéed onions, sautéed mushrooms, pickles and ketchup. I had my other have of my burger for dinner and it was as good as it was at lunch. I also love that this is not a chain.
(5)Rick L.
Great burgers and onion rings. The Da Bomb is outstanding with beef or bison. Great friendly staff and management.
(4)connor R.
I've passed by this place many times but I finally stopped in last night. I was pleasantly surprised with the overall experience. You have two different paths to take with Burger Works; your way or their way (predetermined). Your way is exactly as it says, you make it your own burger with options of toppings, cheeses, spreads, and choosing from wheat buns or eggs buns. We had the classic burger with smoked gouda and fries and onion rings. Both fries and the rings were above average and plentiful. The burger patty was definitely flavorful and the toppings were fresh. Only thing I didn't enjoy was the egg buns. Next time, I will definitely try the wheat buns instead.
(4)Sandra J.
Toooooo much money...............it's JUST a burger.
(2)Matthew B.
pretty good place for burgers..pricey but very tasty burgers..yeess jjesus laawd!!
(4)Dan B.
An excellent burger. The staff is awesome and they really care about your experience there. I've been plenty of times and the owner always makes it a point to speak to me and shake my hand. That's good business. And I appreciate it. If you like a good burger, do yourself a favor and check them out.
(5)Chris C.
Great service! Quality and selection of food is fantastic!

Yummy! This place serves premium burgers for reasonable prices. Not many places serve burgers with this quality. Don't listen to the complaints on price. Their prices are high compared to say McDonald's, but are cheap compared to the frozen burgers you get at most sit-down restaurants. A nice selection of quality meats to choose from. The toppings and cheese selection is great and the fries/rings are yummy. You're not going to find a better burger joint in Richmond.

Um....YUM! Drove all the way from southside to try this place and I was NOT dissapointed. This place is decorated in a really fun way - whoever did the green bubble glass wall or the funky women's bathroom tiles/wallpaper needs to go work for HGTV. The food - top notch. You can tell they are using QUALITY ingredients and the taste comes thru. I made my own burger w/ a wheat bun, white cheddar, sauteed mushrooms, etc. DELICIOUS. my husband had one of their signature burgers plus fries - we both enjoyed the fries b/c there were so many of them! plus they have malt vinegar for the fries which I LOVE! i will definitely be back. This place blows the chain burger joints out of the water. Plus one of the owners came by to chat with us in a welcoming friendly and not weird or annoying way. bonus points for that. i plan to try a bison, turkey or portabella mushroom burger next time - the angus ones we had tonight were awesome. can't wait to go back.

I wanted to hit the 5 Stars - I really, really did - I am going back soon and if it's as good as my first visit - I will change to 5! We visited this past Friday about 10 minutes before they closed. We walked in and thought they were already closed - were warmly welcomed in, encouraged to stay and eat our burgers fresh off the grill rather than take them on a 30 minute drive. The burgers were all delicious, the fries and onion rings were so good, can't explain how they cook them but it's almost like they were both baked as neither was greasy, the paper in the bottom of the basket never got grease marks. Best burger in Richmond by far, better than BGR in Alexndria, VA, KGB or The Burger Bar in Las Vegas, Bobby's Burger Palace in DC and 8 oz. Burger in Miami. The owners checked on us several times, they are two really nice guys who care about what they are doing and doing it RIGHT. Can't wait to go back.

One of the best burgers in Richmond-I highly recommend the bison burger and the cheese fries. Been more than a few times and they are consistently efficient and friendly. I hope they stick around for a long time!

Great burgers for a reasonable price. Tons of options, burgers are always hot and fresh, juicy and not overly greasy. Definitely recommend their parmesan fries. Typically whenever I go with my boyfriend, he and I always do the make your own burger, he's had the beef, turkey, and bison burgers all were very delicious. I usually stick with a beef burger with mushrooms, onions, lettuce, and cheese. The parmesan fries are definitely big enough to be split between two people as well. Great atmosphere as well, definitely for all ages.

Good burgers, good fries, good service. Nice selection from beef to bison to chicken, lots of toppings to choose from. Tasty....

That was unexpectedly good! When I saw the Burger Works sign go up, I thought to myself, "Do we need another burger joint?". Yes, we do! Burger Works has been open for only a week, and there were a steady stream of customers while we were there(Sunday lunch). Wife ordered "The Classic". I ordered a bison burger with toppings that included bacon and a fried egg. Looking back, that was a poor choice on my part as I usually like to limit my toppings on bison burgers. With everything I out on it, I think the beef burger would have yielded an identically-tasting burger. Very good. There was no pink in the bison burger and I wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked. I'm not sure if there is a default and you just specify when you want it cooked differently. The burger was definitely not overcooked, but if you are particular about how you want your burgers...you might want to ask. Same for the fried egg--mine was over easy resulting in a very messy, yolky burger. If that bothers you, make sure ask for it to be done differently. Onion rings were also very good (and I'm not an onion ring fan). the menu on the wall is huge and right by the isle when you walk up to order: you either strain your neck or you stand in the dining area in order to read it. Or grab a menu. I think the staff realize this because they walked up and gave us a menu (i'll post a couple of photos). We like the location, we can hit this place without fighting short pump traffic. And the interior looks great, booth seats were comfortable. No beer/wine yet...license has been applied for.

The best burger joint in Richmond, hands down. My lady gets annoyed because I am forever suggesting we eat at this place. So far I've had the beef burger, the bison burger and the turkey burger. All were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The ONLY problem with this place is it takes a while for your food to come out. Can't really complain since it is fresh. Plus, a wheat bun is much appreciated. Eat here!

Parm fries are the best. We had the blues burger and one I designed. Best burgers in Richmond. Staff is very friendly.

There are a couple of ways to review about a burger joint: Taste: I though the burger was juicy, thick and well cooked. The overloaded toppings were a nice add! The bun was the right size for the burger. Price: The price seemed a bit high for a burger joint. The menu was hard to read and i didn't notice any combo choices. Maybe make a burger/fry combo. Return: I'm not sold. Not to sure if I will go back. Just seemed a bit to much for me. Don't get me wrong, i enjoyed the food. But, the price and menu complexity turned me away.

This was my forst time going to Burger works. The burger was great. Ready to go back and try more combinations.

The food is great, the store is clean, the staff is polite. The score would be higher if they ever got our orders right - there's something wrong every time we go there, but the staff is usually willing to fix it.

Burgers done right! Quick, easy fairly priced and excellent flavor!

I can't complain about the burger, it was better than any I've had in months. I do wish there was an order of fries that was reasonable for just one person, having two paper containers (the size of a 20 oz soft drink cup) just ended up being wasteful. The menu and ordering process could be greatly improved. On one side of the menu, labelled "Your Way" there are six boxes containing options for burger type, bun type, sauce, cheese, toppings and premium toppings. The only place a dollar amount is listed is under premium, where we're told that those are $1 each. Aside from that, nothing. Perhaps some text stating "choose one" in the burger, bun and cheese boxes, and "choose as many as you want" in the others? And prices would help. Please, this is not a fancy French restaurant, just list the prices. If I wanted to play a guessing game, I'd go to a bar on trivia night. The other side of the menu is "Our Way" where several signature burgers are listed, along with sides, drinks, and a kids menu And hey, prices! As mentioned in another review, the giant menu on the wall as you walk in (reminiscent of Moe's) is basically impossible to read if you're in line. The one behind the ordering area is just small enough to be hard to read. If you order something to go, you get to sit and wait in some not all that comfortable chairs. Will I go back? Sure. Will I hope they can make the menu easier to figure out? You bet.

I really like this place, and it aint just a burger joint. Really presents well, burgers are fantastic, some of the best hand-cut fries anywhere. Service is prompt and friendly. Please put this on your list of must visits.

Really good burgers, onion rings. Shakes are good as well but expensive for the size you get

This place lacks only one thing and that is good street signage. Didn't know it was there until I was in the little strip mall it is in looking for another store. Great burgers and they customize them perfectly. The Parmesan fries are delicious. A manager always stops by your table to check on your order and is sincerely interested in your satisfaction. Try it...you'll be glad you gave it a shot. Every person I know who went once is now a repeat customer.
